My First Art Exhibition

Exhibition – Nostalgia at Y Tŷ Celf – The Art House

There are some moments in life that mark a turning point—moments that remind you how far you’ve come and how much you’ve grown. For me, one of those moments is happening this October: my very first art exhibition.

I’m delighted (and a little nervous!) to announce that two of my portraits will be exhibited at Y Tŷ Celf – The Art House in Llanelli as part of the Open Call 2025 Nostalgia Exhibition.

About the Exhibition

The Nostalgia exhibition brings together 16 artists, each exploring the theme in their own unique way. It’s an eclectic mix of styles, mediums, and interpretations—everything from bold contemporary pieces to deeply personal reflections on memory and emotion.

📅 Exhibition Dates: 1st – 31st October 2025
🎉 Launch Event: Saturday 4th October, 12pm – 2pm
📍 Venue: Y Tŷ Celf – The Art House, 1 John Street, Llanelli, SA15 1UH

This is a truly special opportunity, not only because it’s my first exhibition, but also because I get to share space with such a diverse and talented group of artists, all celebrating the power of nostalgia.

Why This Matters to Me

When I rediscovered my love of drawing earlier this year, it was like reconnecting with a long-lost part of myself. Sketching faces from memory, intuition, and imagination has been both freeing and grounding—a way of expressing things words can’t quite capture.

To now see my work hanging on the walls of a gallery for others to view and interpret feels surreal. It’s a mixture of pride, vulnerability, and excitement all rolled into one.

This exhibition isn’t just about nostalgia as a theme—it’s about my own journey back to creativity. And I couldn’t think of a more fitting way to mark this chapter.

An Invitation To The Exhibition

If you’re local to Llanelli or nearby, I’d love for you to join us at the launch event on Saturday 4th October, 12–2pm. Come for the art, stay for the conversations, and help celebrate what I hope will be the first of many exhibitions to come.

And if you can’t make it on the day, the exhibition runs throughout the whole of October, so there’s plenty of time to drop by and soak in the atmosphere.

Here are the 2 pieces I am lucky enough to show case… and how they came into being!

Not just a miner. A story. A soul. “Coal Souls.” This one took a while to appear today! #tiktokartist #tiktokart #charcoaldrawing #charcoalportrait #welshminers

“The Weathered Soul” I tried to remember what my uncle looked like today…. and instead it was just a feeling…. the biggest man quietest soul and safe… I may not have known him long but he stayed with me 🙂 xx #charcoalart #charcoaldrawing #charcoalportrait #tiktokart

Closing Thoughts About This Exhibition!

Exhibiting my work for the first time is a dream I’ve carried quietly for years, and I’m grateful for the chance to finally bring it into reality. Nostalgia is about looking back, but for me, it’s also about moving forward—with creativity, courage, and connection.

Here’s to beginnings, to memory, and to the beauty of art.
